Pearson BTEC L3 courses are exam based for some units. Most courses are assessment via assignments on which learners can get formative feedback prior to final submission and grading. Not all qualifications offered are graded
Overview
The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Business (720 GLH) gives you a strong core of business study. It is equal in size to two A Levels and carries up to 112 UCAS Tariff points. You cover how organisations work, marketing, personal and business finance, events, international business and the principles of management, then choose two specialist units that suit where you want to go next. It supports progression to university business degrees, Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals, Higher Apprenticeships and entry-level roles across the business sector.
Most units are assessed through assignments, with tutor feedback before final submission. Three units are externally assessed by Pearson and are sat under supervised conditions at our Manchester centre.
This course is available to students in the UK only.

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Business consists of 8 units: 6 mandatory and 2 optional. 3 units are externally assessed by Pearson.

Entry Requirements
• GCSE profile including English and Maths (or equivalent Level 2 qualifications)
• A suitable Level 2 qualification in Business or a related subject (desirable)
• Good written and communication skills
• UK Versity may consider applicants with relevant work experience and professional background
• This course is open to UK-based learners only. International students cannot enrol on this course.
There are three externally assessed units on this qualification. For these units you will need to sit exams at the centre. The exam timetable is set and released by Pearson. Exams generally run in January, with a resit in June.
We recruit mainly from the Greater Manchester area so that you can come into the centre easily for your taught sessions and to sit your exams.
Progressions
On successful completion you can progress to:
• Degree, foundation degree or HND courses in business, as single or joint programmes. Higher education providers recognise this qualification as fully meeting admission requirements for many of these courses
• Combined higher education courses, when you study it alongside other qualifications
• Higher Apprenticeships in the business sector
• Junior business roles in marketing, administration, finance, events management and HR, although most learners progress through higher study
This qualification carries UCAS points (up to 112). Always check the entry requirements for degree programmes with each higher education provider.
Certification
This qualification includes a range of assessment types and styles suited to vocational qualifications in the sector. There are three main forms of assessment you need to be aware of: external, internal and synoptic.
The Certificate is issued by the Pearson BTEC Qualification- Awarding Organisation. UK Versity Online Limited (Number 07737) is an accredited and approved delivery Centre for qualifications.
