Who is IFA Direct?

The Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA) is an internationally recognised professional accountancy membership body providing dedicated support to SMEs and SMPs.

We are part of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) Group, the world’s largest SME-focused accountancy group, with more than 49,000 members and students in 100 countries.

We are recognised by HM Treasury to regulate our members for the purposes of the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and 2019 and are a full member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) the global accounting standard-setter and regulator.

Our members work within micro and small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or in micro and small- to medium-sized accounting practices (SMPs) advising micro and SME clients.

IFA Direct

IFA Direct is administered in partnership with UK Versity, a global provider of award winning courses accredited by ATHE, an Ofqual regulated awarding body and recognised globally. The programme is delivered through UK Versity Online in the UK and globally to all professionals as a global study centre of IFA Direct.

Seamless learning

You can study more than one unit at a time over 4–6-week period and as they run continuously you can roll off one unit straight on to another meaning you never have to wait before starting a new subject. The whole programme can be undertaken is as little as 12 months or should you decide you want to take a study break this can be easily arranged with your centre. Units provide challenging and relevant learning with flexible methods of assessment allowing tutors to select the most appropriate method for their learners.

The Exemptions

Those with qualifications higher than 10+2, are eligible to get exemptions on some specific papers.
• B.Com, BBA, M.Com, MBA – Get exemption upto 4 specific papers
• India CA IPCC qualified candidates – Get exemption up to 6 or more on particular papers
• Qualified CA from India – Get exemption on 9 specific papers
• Candidates can check for applicable exemptions by sending an email with documents to admin@ukversity.co.uk

Entry requirments

A level passes PLUS 5 GCSEs/vocational GCSEs/GCE/O level passes (grades 9-4/A-C) in five separate subjects including mathematics and English or equivalent; and/or

Level 3 book-keeping or accounting qualification which includes the ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.

Mature learners (over 21) with relevant management experience

English requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency.

Routes to IFA membership

The IFA is a full member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) the global accounting standard-setter and regulator. Membership delivers enhanced professional recognition and career prospects and in addition, you will receive dual membership of the Institute of Public Accountants (Australia) and be able to use the designatory letters IFA AIPA or AFA MIPA dependent upon your eligibility.
