Overview
This is the recognised entry qualification for a career in adult social care, mapped to the national Care Certificate standards. You build the core knowledge every care worker needs, from safeguarding, duty of care and person-centred working to communication, nutrition, mental health awareness and infection prevention. It is the qualification employers across the care sector look for when they hire.

All units are mandatory. You complete every unit to achieve the qualification:

• Health, safety and basic life support
• Handling information
• Infection prevention and control (IPC)
• Awareness of learning disability and autism
Entry Requirements
• Aged 18 or over
• Working or volunteering in an adult care role
• Reasonable standard of English
• Internet access for online study
Progressions
On successful completion you can progress to:
• NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Care
• NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
• Care assistant or support worker
• Healthcare assistant in the NHS
