Overview
It prepares trainee teachers for diverse teaching contexts, emphasising significant practice to assess and evidence competence in teaching or training responsibilities. This qualification is for learners aged 19 and above, introducing teaching skills tailored for various trainee teacher profiles:
• Those currently teaching or training, including beginners.
• Assessors aiming to gain a teaching qualification.
• Individuals not currently teaching but meeting practice requirements.
• Current teachers/trainers meeting practice standards.
• The qualification confirms occupational competence in a teaching role at the workplace.
Modules
Mandatory unit (3 credits):
• Unit 1: Understanding Roles, Responsibilities, and Relationships in Education and Training
Optional units (minimum 9 credits):
• Unit 02: Understanding and Using Inclusive Teaching and Learning Approaches in Education and Training (6 credits)
• Unit 05: Understanding Assessment in Education and Training (3 credits)
Entry Requirements
• Learners should be 19 or over to undertake the qualification.
• You will also need to evidence Literacy skills at level 3 and Numeracy at level 2.
• Potential teacher trainees wishing to take any of the specialist optional units will need to evidence Level 3 personal skills in English or mathematics, as appropriate.
• The entry criteria and how they can be evidenced can be found in ‘Criteria for entry to mathematics (numeracy) and English (literacy and ESOL) teacher training in the lifelong learning sector (LLUK, June 2007, amended 2010).
• 60 minutes Micro teaching session observation or recording is required to complete certification. This will be observed by a qualified teacher.
Progressions
Learners completing this qualification can progress to the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training or depending on prior experience, even progress to higher level qualifications including Diploma in Education and Training or a PGCE with an university.

The Diploma is issued by the NCFE -Awarding Organisation. UK Versity Online Limited ( Number - 8465520) is an accredited and approved delivery center for NCFE qualifications.
