Overview
For people who assess vocational learning through methods other than workplace observation, such as assignments, projects, tests and skills tasks in a classroom or workshop. It pairs the theory of assessment with the practical skill of assessing vocational skills, knowledge and understanding. You need access to learners you can assess.
Modules
All units are mandatory. You complete every unit to achieve the qualification:
• Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
• Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
Entry Requirements
• Aged 16 or over
• Occupational expertise in the area you will assess
• Access to learners you can assess
• Internet access for online study
Progressions
On successful completion you can progress to:
• NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA)
• Level 4 IQA qualifications
• Assessor roles in training and education
• Tutor or trainer roles
