Overview
This qualification is designed for individuals working or aspiring to work in support roles within schools or colleges. It provides a comprehensive understanding of how to support children and young people’s development, learning, and well-being within educational settings. Learners will develop both knowledge and practical skills, including safeguarding, communication, behaviour management, and supporting learning activities. The course includes a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 350 hours with 210 Guided Learning Hours (GLH), and learners are recommended to complete around 100 hours of practical placement in a real learning environment to demonstrate competence.

Assessment
Assessment is carried out through an internally assessed portfolio of evidence, which is externally quality assured. Learners will complete assignments and practical evidence based on real work experience in a school or college setting.
Entry Requirements
• Must be 16 or over
• Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths (or equivalent international qualifications) accepted
• Applicants without the required GCSEs can study Level 3 with UK Versity subject to meeting entry requirements


Progressions
Learners who complete this qualification can:
• Progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning
• Progress into employment as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
• Advance into specialised support roles within education
• Pursue further studies in education or child development

The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning is awarded by NCFE CACHE.
