Overview
This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training while building a real understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. You will explore how schools operate as organisations, how to support the well-being of children and young people, and how to communicate effectively with children, young people, and adults. It's a knowledge-only qualification — you do not need to be working in a school or completing a practical placement to take it.
Who is it suitable for?
This Award is designed for a wide range of learners thinking about working in a school setting. It works equally well for young people exploring their first career steps, mature learners returning to study, learners with special educational needs, and learners for whom English is an additional language. It's a confidence-building entry point into the school workforce pathway.
