This Level 5 Extended Diploma in Computing (Software Engineer) is a comprehensive qualification designed to equip you with the advanced skills and knowledge needed to succeed in software engineering. It's built for people who are serious about a career in tech. It also puts a strong emphasis on practical skills in software design and development, giving you the opportunity to work on real-world projects and scenarios.

All assessments are assignment-based — no exams. And on completion, you can progress to a full Bachelor's degree (BEng/BSc) at a UK university via the top-up route, typically in one further year of study.

Entry Requirements
This qualification is designed for learners typically aged 19 and above who already have a foundation in computing or IT and want to build specialist software engineering skills at a higher level.
-candidates must typically have completed a Level 4 Diploma in a related field or possess equivalent qualifications. A strong foundation in mathematics and a basic understanding of computer programming are also recommended.
-Equivalent international qualifications are considered. If you have relevant work experience in a computing or tech role, speak to our admissions team — applications are reviewed individually.
-English Language proficiency of IELTS 5.5 or above
-If English is not your first language, UK Versity will determine your English Language Proficiency
Progressions
Completing this Level 5 Extended Diploma opens the door to degree-level study. You can progress to a BEng or BSc (Hons) degree at a UK university via the top-up route — meaning you typically only need one to two additional years of study to earn a full bachelor's degree.
