Overview
This QAA-recognised Access to Higher Education Diploma in Primary Teaching is a Level 3 qualification for adults who want to progress to a university primary education degree or teaching route without A-Levels. Studied entirely online with no exams, it carries 60 credits and covers child development, theories of learning, the primary curriculum across English, maths and science, inclusion and safeguarding, and classroom support. A subject-specialist tutor supports you throughout and you finish with a nationally recognised qualification accepted by UK universities.

The Diploma carries 60 credits in total: 45 graded Level 3 credits and 15 ungraded credits covering study skills. The qualification is validated by Ascentis and recognised by the QAA.
Entry Requirements
• Must be 19 or over.
• GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths, or accepted international qualifications.
• Applicants without the required GCSEs can study Level 2 credits with UK Versity to meet university entry requirements.


Progressions
Completing the Access to HE Diploma in Primary Teaching allows you to meet entry requirements for a range of university degrees and careers, including:
• Primary Education degrees (including QTS routes)
• Education Studies and Early Years degrees
• Special Educational Needs degrees
• Careers as teaching assistant progressing to qualified teacher
Certification
Assessment is entirely coursework based, through a portfolio of written assignments and Ascentis-set Core Unit Assessments. There are no exams. Graded units are awarded at Pass, Merit or Distinction, and your full grade profile sits across the 45 graded Level 3 credits. The Access to HE Diploma is issued by Ascentis, the Awarding Organisation. UK Versity Online Limited (Number 3286) is an accredited and approved delivery Centre for Ascentis qualifications, and the qualification is regulated by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).
