Overview
The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Business (1080 GLH) is the full Level 3 business programme. It is equal in size to three A Levels, carries up to 168 UCAS Tariff points and meets university entry requirements in its own right. You study business environments, finance, marketing, international business, management and decision making, and add six specialist units across HR, accounting, market research and law. It is the most complete route into a business degree, a Pearson BTEC Higher National, a Higher Apprenticeship or a career in business.
Most units are assessed through assignments, with tutor feedback before final submission. Four units are externally assessed by Pearson and are sat under supervised conditions at our Manchester centre.
This course is available to students in the UK only.

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Business consists of 13 units: 7 mandatory and 6 optional. 4 units are externally assessed by Pearson.

Entry Requirements
• GCSE profile including English and Maths (or equivalent Level 2 qualifications)
• A suitable Level 2 qualification in Business or a related subject (desirable)
• Good written and communication skills
• UK Versity may consider applicants with relevant work experience and professional background
• This course is open to UK-based learners only. International students cannot enrol on this course.
There are four externally assessed units on this qualification. For these units you will need to sit exams at the centre. The exam timetable is set and released by Pearson. Exams generally run in January, with a resit in June.
We recruit mainly from the Greater Manchester area so that you can come into the centre easily for your taught sessions and to sit your exams.
Progressions
This qualification carries UCAS points (up to 168) and meets university entry requirements in its own right. On successful completion you can progress to:
• Degrees such as BSc (Hons) Business and Management, BA (Hons) Business and Finance, BA (Hons) Business with Human Resource Management, BA/BSc (Hons) Business Studies, BSc (Hons) International Management, BSc/BA (Hons) Marketing and BSc (Hons) Retail Management
• Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Business
• Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Business, including the Accounting and Finance, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing, Procurement and Supply Management, and Law pathways
• Higher Apprenticeships in the business sector
• Junior roles in marketing, administration, finance, financial services, procurement, events management and HR

Certification
This qualification includes a range of assessment types and styles suited to vocational qualifications in the sector. There are three main forms of assessment you need to be aware of: external, internal and synoptic.
The Certificate is issued by the Pearson BTEC Qualification- Awarding Organisation. UK Versity Online Limited (Number 07737) is an accredited and approved delivery Centre for qualifications.
