Overview
A leadership-track qualification for senior care workers moving into supervisory and lead-practitioner roles. It builds advanced skills in leading communication and inclusive practice, facilitating person-centred assessment and support planning, professional practice, safeguarding and partnership working, with optional units in mentoring, supervision, team leadership, advocacy and quality assurance. It is the recognised step between the Level 3 Diploma and a management role.

Mandatory units (all required to achieve the qualification):

• Develop, maintain and use records and reports
• Personal development in adult care settings
• Lead inclusive practice in adult care settings
• Lead health and safety in adult care settings
• Facilitate person-centred assessment to support wellbeing
• Facilitate support planning for positive outcomes
• Professional practice in adult care settings
• Working in partnership with others
• Understand personalisation in care and support services
• Understand safeguarding and protection in adult care settings
• Safeguard children and young people in the adult care sector
Optional units: you also complete a minimum of 34 credits from a bank of optional units, selected with your Course Coordinator to suit your role and goals. Popular optional units include:

Entry Requirements
• Aged 18 or over
• Working in a senior or lead adult care role
• NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care or equivalent
• Internet access for online study
Progressions
On successful completion you can progress to:
• NCFE CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leading and Managing an Adult Care Service
• Senior care practitioner or deputy manager
• Care coordinator or assessor roles
• Further leadership CPD
